One Grain of Sand

As the rest of my family was sunning, shell searching, and swimming, I was walking on the beach at Port Aransas. At one point, I looked down and noticed one grain of sand that was positioned such that it caught the suns rays. It was so bright that it stood out among all the rest. It reminded me of a definition I had looked up for the word "glory". A Bible verse states, as believer, we are to "let our light so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in Heaven." The grain of sand was shining bright and I said in my heart, I'd like to be like that grain of sand and shine for you Lord. One word in the dictionary that described glory was "resplendence". It means to shine back.

At the moment, another scripture came to mind… “ the whole earth will be filled with His glory.” I had to repent. Why? Because our love for God may be specific to us but God created the whole world to be illuminated by His love. That takes all of us and is why He created us. We are to be born of the spirit as His Children. There are few parents that don’t want there children to be the image of themselves. Because of His love for us and His creation, the light and beauty of His Life shines through us.. That’s our purpose as His family … to reflect His goodness. It’s not for our selfish gratification but to show off His great love as this is the culture of Heaven. The total provision of our Father God and our unselfish giving and serving is the substance of His eternal kingdom. What if all of us “grains of sand” shown like that one? Well, that is the culture of Heaven.
